A few shots from our Halloween display this year. I had to scrap the Day of the Dead theme idea and just go with the display we had last year, because I simply had no time to work on finishing new props and putting it all together. But I think this turned out well, a few things are different from last year and I had time to fix some lighting issues we had before. So I think the overall display turned out a bit more polished than before. Overall it was a nice Halloween and aside from setting all this up I spent a good part of the weekend watching classic horror movies on TCM!

Halloween props in progress

Started working on some props for our Halloween dispay this weekend. I'm really behind and off to a slow start but hopefully it will turn out pretty well. We decided to go for a "Day of the Dead" theme this year, mainly because of the lack of any better ideas and I wanted to do something more colorful this year.

 

So while out at the craft store yesterday I spotted these cheap little plastic skulls and figured I could do something with them. I grabbed up some fake Mums as well, I couldn't find Merigolds, so the Mums will have to do. They look pretty similar to each other anyway. 

I'm still unsure how exactly I'm going to work them into the display that we have planned. I think I might string them together and hang them up somehow, we'll see how that goes.
