I went to Kris Kuksi's book signing at the Joshua Liner Gallery, for his new book "Divination and Delusion", which showcases many of his amazing works of art. This book is absolutely gorgeous and it was great having a chance to meet him (and see two of his smaller scale pieces) in person.
"Sakura" proof arrived in the mail yesterday and I'm quite happy with how it turned out, it looks lovely and I really like the new paper. I had this printed on Hahnemühle bamboo paper, which is 90% renewable bamboo and 10% cotton. I think it's sightly heaver than the Somerset Velvet watercolor paper I was using before, as well as smoother. Not as much texture on it and I think I like the difference. These will hopefully be up in the shop next week or so, the printer I use is usually pretty quick about sending prints out.
And of course they won't look like the picture above (that's just a proof, I don't want to confuse anyone, haha), they'll be 5"x7" full bleed with no borders. I'll also be offering them both framed and unframed.
Also I'll be taking part in a small works art show at Climate Gallery in New York next month. I'll have three paintings there, hopefully including the one I've been working on and posting pictures of lately. However I'm only about 60% finished with that one, and since I was invited to do this show on a bit of a short notice, I'm not sure if I'll have time to finish it before the deadline. I'd love to, but I don't want to rush it either. Anyway here is the show info for those who are in the area or will be in the area, stop on by:

Artist Statement on my pieces in this show:
This series of paintings all focus around the concept of
transformation. The ending of something so there can be a new
beginning, both in the sense of letting go of things in life that holds
one back and discovering who one truly is and accepting it. There are
moments in life when we find ourselves at crossroads, with the choice
to follow the same path we've been on or push for something better. I
think often it is in these times when we are tested and dare to embrace
the uncertainty that we can discover who we truly are, who we can be,
and see the world in a different light. Realizing that just beyond our
darkest of moments and deepest sorrows there can be beauty and that
happiness can be found even in the smallest of forms, when one dares to
look, see, and delight in it.
